1. What is Henna?

Henna is a natural substance. It is prepared from the plant Lawsonia Inermis and requires warm temperatures for its growth. It is not found in regions of heavy rainfall. It is a popular substance as it could be used as a natural dye. Organic henna powder leaves a reddish-brown tint when applied on skin and hair. It is interesting to note that the leaves of the plant might not give any colour. It is only after crushing them that one could see the skin to catch the colour.

Henna powder is used to colour hair and is also extensively used to make beautiful body art in many regions on hands, feet and nails. It also has a strong, sweet-tangy smell which is loved by many.
