First, you need to purchase authentic organic Henna powder. When buying henna you need to keep a few things in mind:
The procedure of henna mixture is pretty straight forward. Here you have to pour the powder into the bowl, gradually incorporate it and stir. After that keep adding a little bit of water into the henna powder at a time and stirring the mixture until it gets the same consistency as yogurt.
Once the Henna Dye Mixture is ready cover it with plastic wrap and wait a couple of hours or overnight for best results. You should check the colour of the henna dye mixture to check whether it is ready or not. When henna dye mixture darkens from green to dark brown that means the dye has oxidized and it is ready to use.
The next step is to apply Henna dye mixture on your hair. Before applying you have to take care of a few things:
– Don’t wash your hair for a day.
– Apply petroleum jelly along part of your skin that is next to the edge of your hair.
– Use plastic gloves while applying the henna dye mixture.
The most crucial part while applying henna dye mixture is to coat your hair evenly. Pay special attention to the end of the roots particularly along your hairline.
Start applying the mixture to the small section of your hair. Starting with the top most layer of hair, grab a small section of your hair from the middle of your head.
Comb this section away from the rest of hairs. Now with a large tint brush or using your fingers, apply 2 tablespoon of Henna mixture to the roots of your hair. Spread that mixture towards the tip of your hair.
Henna mixture does not spread easily hence it is important to check whether the mixture is properly spared from the roots of the hair to the tip. Working with the same topmost layer of hair, take a fresh 2-inch section of hair from beside the original section. Apply henna paste to the roots with your fingers or a tint brush. Work the paste toward the tip, adding more paste if necessary, until the entire section is saturated with henna paste. Once your hair is fully covered with henna dye mixture, Take a long sheet of plastic wrap and wrap your hair. Wrap the plastic completely around your hairline, top of your head. Wrapping your hair with plastic will keep henna warm and moist, and it will allow it to set.
When henna gets enough time to set, use your gloves again and remove that plastic wrap.
Take shower and thoroughly rinse the henna paste from your hair. Rub conditioner into your hair to help loosen the paste. Continue conditioning and rinsing your hair until the water runs out of your hair clearly and there is no pest left.
One of the most obvious uses of henna is, it’s a fabulous dye and helps naturally change the colour of your hair.
The organic properties of henna help with hair growth exponentially. Henna also helps to remove excess grease and dirt from your scalp, including dandruff. Using it regularly not only cures dandruff but also prevents them from coming back. When henna is combined with hydrating ingredients such as eggs or yogurt it makes a great conditioner.
‘Henna directly affects the scalp, and helps with improving follicle health. Henna deeply conditions and nourishes your hair, taking care of your dry hair problem and your split end issues.’
This can help with curb hair fall and correct the hair thinning. Dry and damaged hair is prone to split ends, and just cutting them is not an option. You have to break that vicious cycle and using henna is a great way of doing this.
